"22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." [Galatians 5:22-23, NIV

That said, I am venturing to say that GOD has nothing to do with evil or "bad" fruit. Hence to have a personal relationship with GOD, it appears we are being "pruned" or matured to be fruitful like the Spirit.
I still remember the first two questions (and the answers!) from catechism classes. I should remember, considering how the nuns of those days drummed the material into our little heads.
ReplyDeleteThe answer to question 2: To know, love and serve Him.
True service, or living our faith the way He expects us to, can't help but produce some kind of fruit for His harvest.
It's the pruning and the testing along the way that sometimes hurts, but always helps us to bear even better fruit on these branches as we mature and in the end.
That's what I think, anyway.
(Does anyone remember the 3rd catechism question?)
